Famous for their excellent value for money and indestructibility, they can still be found in the homes of many guitarists today, perhaps in a corner of the living room as a piece of furniture. Beginning with the name J-52, this guitar was updated and improved each time until the J-54 (6-string) and J-56 (12-string) versions were named Ranger VI and Ranger XII respectively in 1967. Ranger is undoubtedly the word that resonates most in Eko's history and has helped to establish it as a brand in Europe. The onboard preamplifier is the Eko SE30: the system controls the electric piezo and offers controls for Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble, Phase Inverter and display tuner. The neck is made of Okoumé with a 20-fret South American Roupana fingerboard, plastic saddle and nut.
